Don Freeman is the author of a wordless novel, Skitzy, as well as two nearly wordless novels, It Shouldn’t Happen and Great Shakes (published posthumously).
Don Freeman (August 11, 1908 – February 1, 1978) was an American painter, printmaker, cartoonist, illustrator, and writer of children’s books. He was active from the 1930s to the 1970s and often used Times Square as the backdrop for his works.
Special thanks go to Don Freeman’s son, Roy Freeman, who has been generous in his comments and insights.
