James Reid’s only wordless book, The Life of Christ in Woodcuts, was printed in the USA but was released in the UK with a different cover and slipcase.

- top edge is finished in silver matching the silver on the cover of the slip case and the book as well as the thin strip of silver running along side the black spine on the front cover.

A paper label has been attached to the front of the slipcase. Assumption: the label is from a roll of silver-and-black-printed paper, and the red lettering and image were printed afterwards. Note the black diamond shapes above are centred, while the example below has the diamonds shifted to the right. Also, the stereotypical Christ head is easily recognizable in the image above but not in the example below, suggesting the printing block is breaking down or is poorly inked.
