Masereel’s wordless novel, Histoire Sans Paroles (Story without Words), was initially printed in a limited edition of 155 copies.
It was republished in 1922 in a limited edition (800 copies) by Kurt Wolff under the German title of Geschichte Ohne Worte, and then in Trade editions in 1927 and 1933 and later.
