EXCERPT From Exhibition and Media Reviews, Edited by Michael Rhode, Published in IJOCA, Spring 2012

Buck lived in Barcelona from 1924 until June 1929 when he moved to NY. This journey from Barcelona to New York was documented in a short, whimsical ‘Novella’ in 19 woodcuts entitled ‘My Diary – From Spain to Fifth Avenue’.

The vivacious prints from My Diary depict the artist as a good-natured white-collar proletarian, who attempts to paint a woman but her vitality forces his best efforts into the background.
